We have been making music producing machines for years now. From Speaker Necklaces to the Temple of Boom. In 2009 we built our first BoomCase.
The Self Powered Portable Suitcase Stereo system that works with your iPod/iPhone or any device with a headphone plug. The BoomCase will last 10+ hours on a single charge (Charger Included). In addition to running on batteries, The BoomCase can also be plugged in. The BoomCase can be made with out a battery if you do not plan to take it out much.
Each BoomCase is hand made from vintage suitcases in California, USA. We use Ni-MH battery pack as well as a custom made amplifier. BoomCase Options include: Ipod/USB Charger, Extra Batteries, TV Screens, Custom Paint, Solar chargers and more.
Our main goal is sound quality. You can be assured we make each case sound as good as possible. We shy away from plastic or thin suitcases because of their not so great acoustic qualities. While we have been making portable music machines since 2000, we’ve drawn some inspiration from the man selling stereos and bumping his homemade Briefcase Stereo at the Flea Market in Sacramento, The Person who did the Various Store Displays in San Francisco that involved vintage cases and speakers, The VW Beetle Scene who has been making suitcase stereos for ages and the original “BoomCase” such as the “Wildcat” by GE.

The BoomCase team cares for the environment: In addition to repurposing vintage suitcases (upcycling) – we only use recyclable/biodegradable packing material.

This is amazing! A friend and I have built small speaker cabinets, but nothing with this style. I tour with a band, Lake Folk out of Ann Arbor, MI. I would be interested in having some cases made for us to play at festivals and outdoor/farmer’s market concerts. Nice work!
